I live in a condo and want to create a compact home gym set up. I happened upon Titan Fitness and liked these prices. I have the Titan 5' barbell and needed bumper plates. I bought 4 - 10 lb plates which are currently on the bar. The plates arrived well packaged in sturdy cardboard, 2 per box, and each plate wrapped in plastic. They were all coated with something greasy which I could have done without. I had to scrub all of them and they're still not totally clean. Open them where you can clean them and not make a mess. They heavily smell like rubber but they're bumper plates so that's to be expected. It's not unpleasant - especially if you have a garage or basement set up. You will need collars for these 10 lb plates. All of mine are slightly bent/warped so they tilt on the bar and don't stay together nor stay secure - even when just doing deadlifts. These are thinner and less sturdy than the 10 lb bumpers at my gym. But for the price and use these are totally sufficient for me at home. However I would not be dumping the bar with these bumpers unless you NEED to dump the bar. I don't think these plates would survive too much repeated impact. I am in a condo so that's not an issue for me (hopefully haha). I would recommend these bumpers for creating your affordable home gym.
