I decided to build a small gym in my garage as opposed to buying a gym membership. Not wanting to spend too much on equipment, I opted for titan fitness for my bar and bumper plates. The bar is solid and the knurling feels good. It feels balanced and of overall great quality for the price.
this bar is great. the knurl is great and overall I am very happy
Our club just recently purchased this barbell, and it seems like a well-made barbell. Typically bars this cheap will have obvious red flags upon opening, but aside from the side caps making some minor rattling, this bar has a solid feel. I want to mention that the grip is slightly thicker in diameter, but it still feels good in the hands. Knurling is comfortable and not too aggressive. Great bar for the price.
I love everything about this bar. You will need to wipe it dry (a few times) as it comes well lubricated. The knurling is healthy without being too aggressive. I use this bar, and my wife uses the 25lb version - we love both of them.
I'll start off by saying that I recommend buying a quality barbell for your home gym considering it will likely be the single most used piece of equipment and you'll be thankful buying a "high end" barbell in the long run, since cheaper bars aren't always the most reliable after years of use. Because of this, the main bar I chose for my home gym was the Rogue Ohio bar. That being said, most people (myself included) don't want to use their $300+ barbell for landmine exercises, or other "unintended" uses which could potentially damage the barbell. That's where a beater bar comes in. I purchased this bar to be my "beater" bar and couldn't have made a better decision. I got this bar from the Titan Warehouse Deals eBay page, and for $78 SHIPPED it was delivered right to my door. Mine came slightly different than the picture, but from the "1000lb" rating band around the sleeve it's clear this is the bar I received. Sure, it doesn't compare very well to the Rogue Ohio Bar (which costs over $300 before shipping), but it absolutely beats any other "cheap" barbell. Don't waste time looking elsewhere for a beater bar, you won't find a better deal.
Arrived well packaged with no damage.
The bar has a nice dfeel and is very solid. As other reviewers mentioned, just wipe it off and you are ready to have at it. As for the knurl, no complaints here. Yes, it is fairly light, but I have had no issues with any lifts (including deadlifts) while using it.
This bar is a great buy, couldn't believe the quality for the price. Glad I found this bar, saw it on Amazon checked out Titans website and they were even cheaper. Ordered this bar Thursday not expecting to see it till the next week, had it delivered to me Friday. That's faster than Amazon, Great company I will be buying more equipment.
It's a great buy. For the money you can't really beat it. The chrome has started to chip a little bit on the sleeves but that's bc of the plates being a little rough. The knurling is alright. It's better than the knurling on the Cap bar that I replaced with this one. I just wish it was more aggressive like the Rogue OPB. Definitely recommend it though.
This bar is awesome! It looks great, it feels great.
It came shipped in a thick cardboard tube and in perfect condition. Yes, it has a thin coat of oil on it but just wipe it down and youre good to go.
Knurling is pretty subjective, but I think this feels great. Not too passive, but definitely not ripping your skin off aggressive either. I've used Rogue and other higher end barbells and this feels just as nice (at at least half the price).
Only compliant is that the end caps with the Titan logo seemed loose and moved around a bit. I don't think this will affect the bars functionality, it just makes some sounds and is the only sign that this is a "cheap" bar.
Overall, great looking and feeling bar that is strong enough to hold anything I can throw at it.
Bought through Amazon. Very nice detail to craftsmanship. This is a beautiful bar. Looks like it is very durable and the sleeves spin well, unlike some barbells. Look forward to many workouts with this bar.
This is a great bar and is better quality than the price suggests. The knurling is pretty light and doesn't chew up my hands at all. The sleeves aren't grooved and are pretty slick at first because of the light coating of machine oil, but I just used a dusty rag to get a good portion of it off first. I could still pull off my clips with a some force, but after a few weeks of use they don't slide off. It's a great addition to the home gym!
Bought two of these bars about a year ago and have put them through hell. They can take a beating and the only wear and tear I've seen is the chrome paint starting to chip off the ends. They flex perfectly under heavy weight and bounce back to shape every time. Very nice and I'm happy.
I ordered this bar to be a beater in the gym to do rack pulls off the pins. Once it came in I changed my mind as the quality of the bar is much higher than I anticipated. Its my no means a premium bar but it's a fantastic option for everyday use in my small company gym. It's always nice to have expectation exceeded by a purchase.
This is a phenomenal bar with a great price. Totally recommend if you are in the market for a bar.
I was worried about the quality because of the price but i decided to purchase the bar after seen the reviews. There is no shortage of quality in this bar, spins well, feels solid and the knurling is perfect for me. Just keep in mind that it seems like fed x doesn't care at all about the shipping, the packaging was pretty banged up but the bar was OK.
This is a good bar: well balanced, stiff, no play in the collars, moderate knurling, including center knurling for squats. Took a star off for packaging/delivery. Usually don't care, but there was no packaging -- not even a plastic sleeve -- and FEDEX left it in my driveway in the rain all day. No scratches or dings visible, and hopefully no rain got into the collar bearings. Time will tell.
No issues here. The bar works phenomenal. Feels smooth throughout entire set of squats and bench. The only reason why I'm giving it 4 on quality is because it arrived with a couple of dings on one of the ends. Notified Titan and they gave me a credit which I agreed to vs sending it off to get replaced since I didn't think it was that big of an issue. Overall very satisfied.
I got this bar to replace a cheaper one I had and I must say "this is a great bar!". I am a trainer and know a quality bar and this is one. The collars spin great and I haven't had any issues with the use of this bar. I have loaded to 450lbs and it held up great, unlike my other bar which would start curving at 315 on squats. For the money, you can't beat the quality. The knurling is just right for me even at heavy weight.
I've done a lot of research and I couldn't find a competitor out there that comes close to quality of the this bar for such a low price. Yes, there are better bars but expect to pay about 2 to 3 times as much. The knurling is just right, the end cap is tight. It's a good looking solid bar and more importantly it's a great value!
I'm by no means an expert on weightlifting bars, and I wouldn't be able to tell you the difference between this bar compared to more expensive ones found online. What I can say is that this bar seems very solidly built and designed to last a lifetime. I put some CAP brand plates on it and there is a gap, so I've only been doing deadlifts until I get some clips to hold them in place.
Overall a decent buy. It's not the greatest but for the price you can't beat it. The knurling needs to be rougher. Once My hands get sweat on them it's difficult to hold on to at times. Chalk helps. The chrome paint chips off very easily and it began to rust literally the second day I had it in my garage, but I live in south Florida and with the humidity I already expected that. I've loaded the bar with 350lbs+ and have had no issues there. The first bar I received was falling out of the tube they sent it in resulting in pretty bad damage. They sent me a replacement immediately after I sent them a picture. I would purchase this bar again because of the price.
I looked at many different bars before buying this one at a fraction of the price.
I searched for a new Olympic bar for a long time, looking for one that could handle more weight. My previous Olympic bar maxed out at 300lbs and I outgrew it. I must say I am very, very happy with this purchase. The bar held 330lbs already and I barely felt it. Bar felt solid and came in perfect condition.
A great looking bar with even better performance!
I got this bar with 10% off, it was a steal. It weights 46 lbs, and a VERY solid bar. My ONLY gripe with it is the knurling is extremely light, making it a bit difficult to use this for deadlifts.
The Good: The bar is exactly what it says it is. Balance point is good the and the cap ends are tight with little to no play. Spin is good and even.
The Bad: The packaging was fairly flimsly and got pretty wrecked in transit, and as a result was delayed at Fedex, requiring relabeling and repackaging. The chrome finish got pretty banged up.
The Other: The knurling is very light, some folks like this, some don't. It is noticably different from other bars. I haven't made any judgement on it, but the girls that have used the bar for highbar squats like it better because of the gentler knurling.
The bar is a bit thicker than the 28.5 diameter that you'll find on other bars, so you might notice this on grip intensive exercises (again, neither bad nor good, just different).
The bushings were very dry on receipt so if you've got a cerclip wrench, I'd recommend pulling the ends and greasing the bar. If not, I'd use some breakfree CLP.
TL:DR version - decent bar, different - very stiff, Olympic Knurl ring spacing. $95 is a bargain for what you get.
Just received this bar about 2 days ago. Used it a couple times so far and it seems sturdy. The knurling isn't very deep, but I'm only using it to bench and squat. It has a pretty good spin. A good budget bar so far.
