Few tips: open it outside and twist/shake back and forth with titan cutout down. Its FULL of metal. Once you start using keep that on outside away for eyes and facing up. Unless you want a metal flake in the eye.
Wife says it looks like it's made out of junkyard scrap metal.
It works and works good. A few of the welds looks a little "cold" to me but it's still great. Price shipped is unbeatable. Fits both my cap iron plates and the titan bumper plates without issues.
Good for rotation into weekly chest workouts since my shoulder joint isn't the best. Really like it.
Good bar, only downfall is bumper plates will not fit. Something to keep in mind for anyone that doesn't have a set of steel plates.
Overall I'm pretty happy with my purchase except for a few minor issues. As is commonly stated in all negative titan product reviews, the welds are not as clean as you might expect, but I do not feel as though it would affect performance of the bar in any way. The powder coat finish on the bar also left much to be desired. There were several spots on where the finish was rough or too thin, and whats worse, there were 3 distinct spots where the bar must have been hung from that were never touched up at all. That left 3 nickel sized 'holes' where there was no finish at all. I purchased some spray on bed liner for $15 to touch up the finish, and while not perfect, it is certainly better than how it arrived. The bar was also full of small sand like particles that made it sound like a rain stick whenever it was moved. This was likely from cutting out the logo prior to sand blasting the bar and could have been easily fixed prior to capping the ends, but I managed to remove the majority of it through the same logo cut out.
Despite all these issues (and unmentioned delays in ordering and delivery) I would still recommend the bar. The dimensions are exactly what I was looking for, in spite of the misleading description. The length between the collars is approx. 52" not 41" which is actually the length of the cage. It fits Olympic racks well. The grip spacing on center is roughly 6.5"/14.5"/22.5"/30.5". I looked at several competitors (BWTG, American Barbell, Rogue etc) but Titan is the only bar of this type that offers the dimensions I wanted, knurled grips, and full 2" sleeves. All while costing 1/2 and sometimes 1/3 (with shipping) the price of anything comparable.
Bottom line it may not be as pretty as the competitions comparable offerings, but I didn't buy it to look at it. The knurled grips, full 2" sleeves, and price make the imperfections very forgivable, and with the money I saved I was able to pick up a hex bar, a tricep bar.
Solid bar. Tons of options with this thing, kinda limited to your imagination really.
I have been buying from Titan since Jan 2015 when I purchased a T3 rack to get started and I haven’t looked back.
I would definitely recommend this bar.
