Having welded and fabricated for years, I know what it takes for equipment to survive. This T3 that I recently bought will be around a long time! For the dollars spent you CANT
beat it. The 5/8 bolts would lift a truck. Everything went together smoothly with no issues. I ordered it at 9AM and had it by 12PM the next day! Steve and Ebony were super to deal with! Very pleased!
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my son (and I) who love to Crossfit. It took my 14 year old son and my husband about 45 min to 1 hour to put together. We were able to put it in our basement and haven't yet needed to bolt it down. I did measure our floor to ceiling in the basement prior to ordering and it fits just fine.
Great quality. Feels very sturdy. Love the bars for the weights. We also bought the dip bars.....add them. They are also great quality.
Thanks Titan, so glad someone pointed me to your company!!
Very satisfied with this rack. Saved enough money to buy a big name barbell and still came out a little cheaper than a rogue rack. I also purchased an additional 2" pull up bar for the bottom of the rack for stability. Customer service is top notch. Highly recommend this company.
I was absolutely blown away by the quality of this rig! For the price its amazing and a NO BRAINER.
Have used this rack in my garage gym for over 18 months with daily use from 4 guys. this has handled everything weve thrown at it. Held up fine to 600+ lb weights on the j hooks and safety bars. I would definetly recomend this to anyine looking for a new rack.
We have Rogue rigs at my box but I can't afford Rogue equipment. This T-3 is every bit as strong and useful as an R-3 and it's worth every penny. My only complaint is that some of the metalwork has room for improvement (to be on par with Rogue), but again... for the price, worth every penny. I look forward to many years of faithful service from this rack!
Great product for a good price. It shipped soon after I ordered it and arrived promptly with all of its parts in good condition. The only problem I noticed was that a couple of the upper side bracings were slightly bent where the bolts are supposed to go into it. However, this was easy to fix using a hammer and a block of wood. Other than that it was really easy to put together and works great. They also have excellent customer service. I would highly recommend this product.
My wife and I, have been looking for a rack for a while. We were looking into Rouge and other brands, but after just buying our house, spending $700 for a rack was hard to fathom. With me being a police officer and my wife a paramedic, our schedules are very odd and makes it hard to get to the gym. I found Titan while doing a Google search for racks. They were very reasonably priced and I couldn't pass up the free shipping.
I placed my order on a Friday night, and the rack arrived the following Friday. The only problem I had was with the packaging, the powder coating was chipped and scratched off in some places. Also a few of the cross support mounting brackets were bent. A few hits with a dead blow straightened them out, but still a little disappointing.
Once assembled and anchored to the floor, it is as solid as can be. The dip bars did have me a little concerned about them withstanding use, but they are stronger than they look. Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase and will be making additional purchases from Titan in the near future. I have made a very long wish list that I will be slowly ordering from. The magnetic rowing machine and bike are definitely at the top of the list.
Researched many different models from the various manufacturers and purchased this model mainly due to it's footprint, price, and versatility . Various reviews stated quality issues but this unit exhibits high quality and attention to detail across the board. Arrived well packed although box was a bit scarred but no scratches or dings. Accessories arrived in separate packages and they too had no issues. Assembly was simple by myself, although a second person can be helpful when attaching initial pull up bar. Unit is strong and sturdy with little movement with weights stacked on storage pins when doing pull ups unanchored. Would definitely recommend mounting for security. Very happy with this purchase.
I wanted a rack I could overhead press from Inside the rack with & this is the one.
Professional piece of training equipment. I couldn't be more pleased. Thanks Titan you make a great product
This rack is awesome! There are a few cosmetic flaws, and I found that the j-hooks are a little snug in certain spots. This thing is super sturdy once you bolt it down, I would defiantly trust it with some heavy weight. Good rack for under 600$ great rack for under 400$!! The only thing that would make it better is If titan would add an optional cable attachment.
For the price, it's a great product and will outlast all my lifting, just wish there was knurling on the pull up bars...it's completely smooth.
I was debating between different models of racks from the name brand cross-fit equipment manufacturer when I stumbled across Titan's T-3 set-up. At literally 1/3 the cost for the rack, dip bars, spotter arms and an extra set of j-hooks, I couldn't justify the extra expense of the name brand unit. The rack is solid, and when I find its ultimate place in my gym, I plan on bolting it to the floor. The only area for improvement might be the shipping packaging. If Titan could spend another $15 to provide stiffer packaging for the long pieces, it would make moving the packages around much easier. All-in-all this is a great value though. I set mine up with a bench press (with spotter arms, a squat rack and put dip bars on the back. I have a separate pull-up bar in the garage so this pretty much gives me everything I need.
My T-3 Power Rack was delivered in 4 days after ordering. Build quality is good, all components and hardware seem well made & robust. Will easily last a life time. Took about two hours to unpack & assemble. Quite stable even without bolting down, there is a little bit side to side sway while loading weights but nothing to worry about. Overall, I am very happy with my rack.
Quick delivery, free shipping and the rack was a great buy for the price. I'm thrilled I purchased it. I built my whole garage gym around it.
Great quality. I was a little hesitant due to a video on YouTube comparing this rack side by side with the Rogue R-3. Everything that was addressed in that video has been fixed. The only issues I had was somehow my package was delivered with two uprights missing and the package was severely beat up. As soon as I contacted Titan they shipped them to me with no questions asked. Do yourself a favor and save your money and order this rack over the overpriced competitors! You won't regret it!
I have had my Titan HD(T-3 as it is now called) for about 9 months. It was a little cheaper when I brought it as well. Supply and demand I guess. It's a great rack. I believe Titan values the concerns of customers, because the have fixed all the issues that customers have complained about. Great rack for a great price. Probably the investment that I am the most proud of, well besides my car and house. I don't have any complaints about the rack. I just wish they would have came out with the 36" Deep Rack about 9 months ago.
I run a Strength and Conditioning facility and Titan seriously overruns my facility. Quality is top notch and prices cant be beat. Customer service is always A+.
The rack is better than expected and gets a ton of use from 14 to 75 year olds. Very versatile and couldn't really ask for anything better. Titan Fitness is a game changer in the strength and conditioning world. I'm happy to call them my go to place.
Keep up the great work and cant wait to try more and more products.
I wasn't sure what to expect upon delivery but was more than satisfied. This rack is solid! Easy to assemble & looks amazing put together. Im certain that this rack will allow me to accomplish my fitness goals & will take whatever I can throw at it. Awesome product, thanks!
Excellent power rack for the price and FREE shipping. I researched racks for about a year before making this purchase. I have been using this rack for 3 months now and love it. For anyone like me, who is serious about training, and looking for a power rack, don't hesitate, the Titan T-3 rack will be a good investment.
As for the rack, solid steal with good welds. Laser cut pin holes, solid hardware, solid pin and pipe safety. There are no washers on the pipe safety system, as old reviews may state. J-hooks are solidly built. Dip bars and spotter arms attach easily to the rack. Easy to assemble. Shipped Fast!
I have this anchored to the garage floor, bought Tapcon 3" 3/8" bolts and it is solid.
I use the Titan T-3 rack at least 4 days a week, including rack pulls, have gone up to 545lbs on the rack pulls and pin and pipe safety hold up no problem. The rack is a Rogue R-3 clone and has a westside hole pattern, meaning 1" spacing thought the bench area of the rack, which is great for adjusting for pin presses. I use the 12" - 18" Adjustable Pro-Duty Plyo Box from Titan for box squats.
If you are on a budget this power rack has everything you need in a home power rack. I do recommend bolting it to the ground if you are a heavy lifter. Without it bolted it will lift off the ground on bench press when returning the weight, but this is to be expected. It weighs well over 200 lbs and is made from 11 gauge steel so it blows away all of its competition that's in the same price range.
super happy with the purchase. Spent a lot of time researching and felt this was the most solid deal and after assembly and bolting it down I am sure I made the right choice. Heavy gauge steel. Really functional. Built like a damn tank. If we descend into a nuclear holocaust the only thing left will be cockroaches and this power cage. Seriously though this is an awesome deal. There is nothing else out there that compares to this for the money. Big selling point for me was the 11 ga steel. It's like the rogue but for 700 bucks less when you add in the dip bars (which are really good by the way), plate holders, spotter arms, and free shipping. Don't be intimidated by having to bolt it down, it's worth it to get the heavier duty unit. I didn't want to ruin my carpet in the spare bedroom so I just got 6 sheets of 1/2in osb and screwed them together To make a 3 layer 8ft by 8ft deck and then topped it with some 3/4 in thick horse stall mats and bolted down thru that. It's solid. Shipping was quick and easy and the company was great to deal with. Great product. Highly recommended.
I bought the Titan T-3 Series Power Rack from the Titan Fitness website. I paid $404.10 for it including the Spotter Arms add-on. I used a 10% off coupon for first time purchases and received free shipping and no tax. Everything arrived in good condition but I received two of the 1 1/4" pullup bars. I let them know that I did not receive a 2" bar and they promptly sent one to me without any hassle at all.
I'm very pleased with this rack and even bought another set of J Hooks. One set for inside the rack and another outside over the spotter arms for my second barbell...because I'm lazy like that.
I watched a lot of reviews and it seems like they did too and fixed many of the issues. It does wobble a little, but I don't have mine bolted down and I don't see how it wouldn't wobble. The wobble is minimal and does not bother me one bit. J Hooks were another complaint but considering I bought a second set, obviously I don't have a problem with them. They seem heavy duty and the rubber is thick.
If you're on the fence, you will not be disappointed with this rack.
Was looking into bigger named companies for a rack for my new home gym but for the price I just couldn't justify buying them. Was amazed at what I got for that much cheaper. Rack is sturdy, comes with solid hardware, and handles my puny man lifting just fine. And that's without it bolted down. Wish it came with another set of J hooks but i guess I'll end up buying them.
Really enjoying it so far, will secure it to the floor once I get everything in my gym finished up but for now it's great
After doing extensive research into home squat racks, I took a chance and ordered the titan t3. I had read mostly good things and it was considerably cheaper than other models of similar quality. It arrived less than a week after my order, 3 or 4 business days. I am very satisfied with this product so far. It took my wife and I maybe 45 mins to assemble and it is heavy duty. I do not have mine bolted down, and squats and pullups are fine. I'm not putting up powerlifting weight, but I doubt most people will be using this rack to break records. For half the price of Rogue, and free shipping, I have no complaints.
I received the T-3 Titan rack about a week after ordering. The packaging was badly damaged by Fedex causing some gouges in the finish. Other than that, it was easy to assemble and super sturdy. I am going to be bolting to my concrete basement floor.
Hmm where to begin with this review?.....Ahh yes. First and foremost. Before purchasing, make sure you have a 15/16 socket. Save yourself some time and disappointment. Upon receiving my rack I was anxious to put it together and start making some gains. Turns out I had the wrong socket and I had to go to the hardware store during rush hour so it literally took 1.5 hours to get one socket. But with that said, it was worth every second and every penny! I absolutely love my T-3 rack! This thing is SOLID!! I was pleasantly surprised at just how thick the 11 gauge metal. I have it on horse stall mats in my garage and i do not need to have it bolted down. Even without plates weighing it down, there's really no need to do so. I'm 6'1 203lbs and I was able to do pretty aggressive pull ups on it without fear of it tipping. Even when racking a heavy barbell it doesn't budge. That is from front to back anyway. From side to side there is some movement, but it does not effect the rack and once again, it will not tip. Watching a youtube video review on the rack I saw that the holes in the uprights where dimpled as mentioned in the review. It would appear that is no longer the case. All of mine are clean cut. Also in another video review, it was mentioned that there was "shrapnel" from when they drilled out the holes. Well mine did come with those, so be very cautious when unpackaging the uprights. They are inside the uprights and when they fall out, they're pretty sharp. One last thing. I highly, highly recommend having two people assemble this rack. I managed to do so by myself, but boy was it tough! Just bringing it into my garage, unpacking, and assembling was a workout. Oh, and I forgot to say. Shipping was lightning fast. Once shipped, it reached my doorstep within two days. I hope Titan continues their great line of fitness equipment and they can definitely expect me to be a repeat customer in the very near future. I can't think of any higher form of praise besides,"Take my money!" Keep up the great work guys/gals!
I own a small group fitness gym and we use the T-3 every day. It's not bolted to the floor, just a couple plates on the weight pins and it's nice and sturdy. As we expand adding more of these is absolutely a no brainer. Also super easy to assemble as I did it myself. The one small flaw would be the dip handles are short making them not really on size fits all. Otherwise a nice design.
Awesome company to do business with! The equipment arrived very quickly and it is everything I hoped it would be. This thing is bullet-proof! Brought my garage gym into beast mode.
You cannot get an 11 gauge steel power rack or almost any sports equipment at a chain sports store.
11 gauge steel is very close to 1/8 in. thick! most power racks you see are 1/16 in. thick if you are lucky!
This should be selling for much more than it is.
Sure the welds may not be as perfect and the paint my not be as pretty as a Rouge R-3. But by the time you get the accessories you need like the spotter bars (very nice) and the dip station and an extra set of J-hook it will cost you at least $1200.00 instead of around $500.00. And I cannot see any difference in functionality plus you also get 4 plate holder mounts.
Cannot be beat!
By the way Titan has fixed several issues with this rack:
Use hard plastic instead of rubber to protect your bar and J-hooks.
Safety catches do not have the washer in them anymore so they are very easy to use now.
All the holes are very clean cut now instead of having burrs on them.
All i can say is I love this Rack and if you are considering it do not hesitate, it is worth the money!
Plus they have excellent customer service. had a problem with one of my J-hooks and with in 3 days I had a delivery at my door!
Could not ask for more!
Love the rack, heavy duty, fantastic price point, highly recommend. Shopping was fast.
This Rack is outstanding, I have been squatting and pulling with bands well in 400-500lb range and I have had no issue with it. It is very heavy and very durable material. Make sure you have a 1" socket to put this rack together. I was looking at Rogue and a couple other brands for purchasing my at home squat rack and this is just as good as those. Spend the money and get this rack, you will not be disappointed.
i just had a chance to use the squat rack with my wife and we love it. We don't have it bolted down to the floor but it seems like there is no need to do that. We love the product and great for the price. Couldn't be happier. Thanks Titan
there isn't a better bargain out there! Best bang for your buck by far
I'm going to make it short and sweet. After months of researching I pulled the trigger and purchased the T3. When it arrived, it did have some scratches, but it didn't bother me at all. I assembled it and it looked great.
It will work unbolted to the ground, but I highly suggest bolting it to the ground. I am not a "handy" guy, but I went to home depot, rented a hammer drill and got concrete anchors. This thing is not moving anywhere.
This thing is a great value. You will not be disappointed!!
This power rack itself is quite nice for the price. I bolted it down to a plywood platform and it greatly helped stability.
I've had it in the garage for a couple of months, use it daily. High quailty, the only thing I would recommend is making the inner cage 30"-36", 24"s a bit narrow, it would be more stable and having the extra room wouldn't hurt. Overall solid product at the best price period.
Assembled with my son in about 2 hours. Extremely pleased with the quality and delivery condition. Great purchase.
If you are on the market for a basic power rack this is the one to go with. It is sturdy as tank easy to assemble and has great height. Only drawback for me is lack of accessories. Simple things like landmine attachment, step up platforms and all goddies that Rogue offer are missing with this rack and I really hope Titan would do something about it to complement otherwise this great rack and made it true competitor to the big boys.
After 6 months I like my power rack even better if that is possible! Could not be more pleased with my rack. its solid, safe, and just kick your rear perfect! Great product, great price, built strong, buy it now you wont be sorry you did. I did put it together myself and it was no problem just take your time...
First and foremost, great price. I'm a 29 yr old female and was able to put it together by myself – only took about an hour! Seems very solid, not sure I'll do kipping pull-ups without it being bolted down but other than that, it's legit! Considering everything I got, definitely paid about $200+ or less for this compared to other brands. Also got the kettlebell and plyobox.. I'm definitely a fan of Titan Fitness!
Purchased the rack about 5 months ago, and it has been working well in my setup, taken up to 300+ and the rack can handle it with ease. It comes in two fairly large boxes and is quite heavy, so setup isn't for the faint hearted if you are trying to do it by yourself. Save yourself some pain and grab a friend to help you set it up. One minor note is that the Jhooks are the same, support brace is on the right side on both. For me it isn't an issue, but beginners may have issues with doing a liftoff straight up and off, and under an extremely rare case, I could see it possibly coming loose but if you are in the market for this rack, it likely won't. It's big, so make sure you have adequate space, I cleared my ceiling by about 5 inches, so it fits but just barely. Getting it to center was rough, take your time and make sure you adjust the rack to a straight position prior to bolting it down. We left it loose, bolted it down and then tightened. Part of the reason of this is there is no bottom crossmemeber to keep the top and bottom spacing equal, you have to adjust it by hand until you get it to where you like it. The finish has been keeping up pretty well, despite what other people have been saying, sure there are some scratches from when weight hits it, but it's not like it's peeling. Any issue with the finish was solely from me abusing the rack, which it can handle alot of. There is no brace on the bottom, as stated previously, which leaves a little room for sway if you don't bolt it down well enough, I used 5 inch thick tapcons and drilled straight through my foundation, come to find out my foundation is only about 2 inches thick, so yours may be more sturdy than mine. Overall, I give it a full five stars and would highly recommend this purchase to anyone serious about fitness, with a little extra cash, some room to spare, and about an hour or two of spare time.
I Love this thing, Good, solid rack at the best price. anywhere.. period. Some people said theirs didn't sit flat, I did not have any problems, as the directions say don't tighten any bolts until all have been installed finger tight.
Bought this rack for my garage gym. Soooooooo worth every penny for it. Plus free shipping! Didnt take to long to assemble the structure. I built a lifting platform and bolted it thru down into the concrete using sleeve anchor bolts. It would most likely damage my truck if i drove in to it. Every piece of streel looked great except for the 2 inch pull up bar , the bolted end was a little bent. bent it back in place with a hammer and didnt compromise it at all. Only one thing has me upset and that is the HD J Hooks that shipped to me where both Right-Handed. I hope they will read this and possibly correct it and send me the opposite . But still extremely happy with my purchase.
Going to unbox and assemble. Will give review when done.
Great rack so far. Had it a few weeks. Assembly was easy, I did it solo. I bolted mine through my plywood platform into the concrete slab of the garage floor. I highly recommend doing this. I weigh 235 and I can climb around on this thing and it has ZERO MOVEMENT. Pullups and hard racks after squatting 405 don't make this thing budge when it's bolted down. Shipped quickly. Can't ask for much more than I listed above from a bolt together rack. :)
This rack is the real deal. While looking to buy a rack I was frustrated with the low quality racks that could not withstand the weights I use at the sports stores and expensive racks from other distributors when i stumbled across Titan. The 11 gauge steel and 1000 lb capacity at $400 plus free shipping seemed too good to be true. I placed an order on a late Friday afternoon and the rack was delivered early on Thursday morning (west coast). The packaging was secure and in great shape. The rack went together in less than an hour by myself. This thing is a solid tank. The j-cups included the plastic inserts and protect the bar nicely. The westside hole pattern is great to get your bench set up just right. I also got the spotter arms and they are solid and also include the plastic lining. They will be great for allowing me to work outside the rack and use for shrugs etc. I plan on bolting this to my platform for extra sturdiness. It functions fine without it but does sway a little to the sides and scoots a little if there is no weights on the storage pegs. I was hesitant to order as it sounded too good to be true but I can't recommend this enough. Get it!
Bought the HD rack back in the summer and most of the complaints have been dealt with. The paint is still not anything to brag about. It does not come tremendously packaged, but other than a scratch or two, it was in good condition, and I still received the rubber covered j-cups as well. That being said, for $399.00 this rack is plenty solid to handle some pretty significant weights and I have not complaints with what I received. As well, anytime I have called Titan or contacted them by email, I have been dealt quickly and professionally. I just recently ordered j-cups, gymnastic rings and a slam ball, but forgot to enter the 10% discount code they were running at the time. One email and I was called back within 45 minutes and advised that the order was updated and discount applied. After receiving goods, I saw that they had updated the j-cups with UHMW lining, so I contacted them by email and asked if I could purchase the liners. Instead I received an email for a new set of j-cups being sent out and a follow up call from their company advising me of it. I would highly recommend trying them out.
This rack is a great value! The rack I received was well made strong and assembled easily. This rack has a well thought out and has an ergonomic design. The welds were neat. It has plenty of weight storage and makes unracking and moving the bar a snap. There are two pull up bars with different grips. I also ordered spotter arms, and dip bars that were discounted when purchased with the rack. Every thing is built like a tank. The 11 gage steel and 2x3 construction is so much thicker and stronger than all the other racks I looked at. The exercises that can be performed on the inside and outside of the rack are endless. The savings on attachments alone make the HD a great value, add in the 1000lb capacity free shipping and friendly customer service and you can't lose!
Can't beat the price, quality, or how adaptive this rack can be. You can hang the pull up bars from various heights, you can add almost anything that will fit through a 5/8" hole (example: an eye-bolt to hook a pulley to). The spotter arms are very adaptive as well. You can use them on the inside (just small enough) or on the outside. I have placed 500 pounds on the end of one of the arms on the outside of the rack... the rack didn't tip and the arm was fine. I usually use the spotter arms over the safety pins simply because they're easy to adjust . Further, if you're worried about the plate holders being in the way of the safety pins, just use the spotter arms...simple fix.
As far as durability and craftsmanship I have not noticed any problems. The thing weighs 230 pounds, that's a lot of metal. It doesn't budge when I do pull ups (even high weight pulls ups and it doesn't walk when I rack from a squat (not bolted down either). Granted, I always have at least 2 x 45 on the plate holders.
After looking at the power racks in the stores($450 -600), this one is much more solid and has a much higher quality. Further, I've used some expensive power racks ($1200+) and this one measures up in terms of quality of materials. The only difference is how the safety pins/spotter arms are adjusted.
Overall, amazing power rack. Make sure you get the spotter arms though, they improve the rack a lot.
I don't normally write reviews for products, but I'm willing to make an exception here. From the start, Titan Fitness has been really easy to work with. Ordering was a cinch. I ordered on a Saturday, it shipped on Monday, and was waiting for me when I got home from work on Wednesday! I assembled the rack by myself in my garage, which was also a really easy process. Be prepared to buy a wrench and socket to fit it if you don't have them already. I didn't have ones big enough, so had to go to the store late that night. I'm sorry I can't remember the size right now...
I have since gotten several workouts in on the rack. It definitely gets the job done! I have had no problems with it thus far, and the $400 price tag was very easy on my pocket book. In addition, it LOOKS great. I've gotten a lot of compliments from friends on it.
The reasons I rated it a 4 in quality may be nitpicking, so take this with a grain of salt. The rack depth is a little narrow, which makes the plate storage pegs inconvenient when it comes to squatting and benching in it. I have since considered taking them off entirely and mounting them on something else on my wall. Also in regards to the plate storage, it could use a third pair, especially if you have a decent number of plates you're looking to keep on it. It should be bolted down for maximum stability, as it has a tendency to shift and sway a little bit if not bolted to something. Lastly, the safety/spotter bars do not look like they could hold up to you dumping a heavy squat or doing some repetitive rack pulls (>500 lbs).
Ultimately, you can go pay for a more expensive rack, but in this case you do get more than what you pay for. This is a great option for someone looking to economically outfit their home gym, and Titan as a company is very easy to work with. I would recommend it/them!
The service was top notch and the new updated HD rack seems to have answered all the complains from the first batch that were made. This is my second Titan rack my first one was the standard one which I just have to friend and now I have got this one. I'm super happy with the quality, and now I'm just waiting for my monolith attachment from Edge Fitness Systems and I'll be ready to go.
While not perfect, this Titan HD Power Rack is probably the best value you will find for a heavy duty power rack.
I could summarize all the cons by simply saying this thing is not built to super tight tolerances. While it looks like the Rogue R3 and does everything the Rogue does, the Titan HD is not put together/welded to the same tight tolerances. The one I received was not exactly square and some of the holes are not perfectly round. I also had a small crack where one of the pieces was bent and I had to bend a back support on one of my dip handles to get it fit. Ok…sounds bad right? Then read the pros.
Even considering the cons listed above, this rack is awesome! Everything about it is super heavy duty. I had bought another brand because it offered better plate storage and had a more known brand name. After a month of using it I knew I had to get something different. I simply did not trust it with heavy weights. This rack is different. They claim it is rated for 1,000 lbs. and I believe it. Everything from the thickness of the metal to the size of the bolts that hold it together will tell you this rack can handle more than you lift. It also has a very small footprint which leaves more room in my small home gym for other stuff. If you have never used a rack with the “Westside” hole pattern, you are going to love it. I also ordered the spotter arms and dip attachment and they work great. I highly recommend getting both with this rack.
There are a few things I wished Titan would offer for this rack. One is flat foot version or add on for those of us who can’t bolt it down. I used a couple 2x6 boards and they worked ok but it would be nice if Titan offered a bolt on kit to add skids or something to the bottom so it did not need to be bolted to the floor. I would also like to see a bolt on plate storage rack. It seems like it would be easy enough to use the same 2x3” metal of the uprights and braces to do a bolt on / add on plate storage for the back. It works great without those things but if they are ever offered, I will buy it.
If you are in the market for power rack, I cannot recommend this one enough. Yes you can a more precision built rack like the Rogue but you will also pay at least twice as much and for me, there is just not enough difference between the two. This rack is very solid and super heavy duty. I ordered mine directly from Titan and I was very impressed with their customer service and shipping. I asked a few questions via email and got prompt responses. They shipped via FedEx instead of a freight carrier and I received it in just a few days. That’s impressive for heavy power rack!
I've had this for a month now. Really thick heavy gauge steel. I have it bolted down to plywood(DIY lifting platform), and its completely stable. People have complaints about fit and finish, and I agree with other people who replied that its a power rack and its not a big deal. The welds look fine and are thick. There is a guy on Youtube with a long video comparison with the R3. My HD rack is completely different. It seems that Titan has addressed those issues. Although, a little rust on the insides and metal punch outs are present. I have used Rogue racks at CF gyms, this is just as sturdy and functional. Rogue is prettier.....if you look really closely. My only con is there's a little side to side wiggle, but I'm not concerned(yet).
Last but not least, customer service and shipping was excellent. I got the rack in 2 days of ordering. One of the weight trees had a piece of weld on the back that prevented me from mounting it. I sent an email with pictures, and they sent me a new one within 2 days. No questions asked.
Did a lot of research on power racks in general over the past 12 months. Found information on the Titan Fitness HD Rack last year and have been following the improvements. Ordered on a Thursday, received on Saturday! Took about 45 minutes to assemble. The rack is heavy duty and will accommodate all but the strongest power lifters. The only issue I had was a defect in one of the uprights. I emailed and within minutes (no exaggeration!) I had a response and a resolution, along with a new upright 2 days later. Can't beat that for customer service. No doubt I'd rather not had the issue, but it was taken care of perfectly and I haven't missed a beat in use. The VALUE of this rack is incredible.
After reading many reviews and a few questions to Titan, I pulled the trigger on the rack. Customer service was quick to answer my initial questions and the order shipped within one business day. I received the rack within 2 days and the packaging was in good shape - that seemed to be the biggest concern with previous customers. It bolted together in under an hour and everything looks good. You cannot beat the price for a 2"x3" rack.
I definitely recommend bolting this down before use, and I would recommend the rack to others. It seems like Titan has worked through many of the earlier production issues - at least based on my experience.
You really can't beat this rig for the money. I haven't used any of the Rogue rigs such as the R3, though I don't know how they can be any more functional than the Titan HD. As others have stated, the paint isn't the most durable and yours will probably come with scratches, but that will happen regardless. I'm sure that Rogue has more durable paint.
I chose to bolt my down to 2x8's rather than bolting them to my basement floor and the thing is solid. I wish the west side pattern started a little bit lower, but that's a minor issue. Also, I would have purchased the spotter arms as a package as it is much cheaper than buying afterward.
Customer service was excellent. I had minor issues with my order, but Titan addressed them. They stand behind their product.
If you're on the fence, pull the trigger. As an expecting father trying to save some dough, this is a no-brainer compared to the R3.
I just ordered the HD Titan Rack last week. It was delivered within 3 days. I put the rack together by myself in less than 2 hours and couldn't believe how well built this rack really is. I am very excited to use this at least 3 times a week... I don't have one complaint... I researched a lot of racks before purchasing this one. I decided to spend the extra $100 for the HD as it will support 1,000 pounds. I don't plan to lift that much in my lifetime....this should last a very long time. I have a heated basement floor so I will not be anchoring to floor. I decided to purchase thick plywood and lag into it for additional support...
Just stop looking around all those different websites and let me save you the trouble, because I already did. You just won't find a better deal. This rack is solid, built like a fine tuned machine with no moving parts...solid. For the price, quality, and 30 minute assembly, it just can't be beat. Good grief, BUY it already!
Super deal! Very fast free shipping!
Been around a lot of racks and nothing else will even come close to touching this for the money! Square it all up and bolt it to the ground before tightening all the bolts and you will be set!. I abuse the crap out of it and have no issues!
I did a lot of looking around and research on social media sites from people who used this rack and other racks. I didn't run into one unhappy user other than that YouTube video from the first run of these. I even looked at Rogue. If you have all kinds of extra income and money is no object, buy a Rogue. If you are a hard working person with a budget, buy this one. Came super fast, no issues with shipping and solid steel. No dimples from holes as it appears they started using a laser instead of a drill press. Yes, there are little pieces still attached on the inside but they break off easy and fall out by shaking. Safety pipes are updated ad J Cups seem solid to me with the newer rubber liner. Time will tell of course. The paint, which Titan says is powder coating isn't very good, but I didn't buy this to "wax and drive on weekends." I used this to work out.
Goes together solid. I bolted mine down to garage floor with 3/8 x 3" Tapcons bought at Home Depot and the thing doesn't move. Pull ups, bench, squat, etc, hardly a move at all.
If you are on the bubble about this, just do it. For the price, nothing out there as good or as solid. I did buy the dip bars and work great. The grips are small, but just buy some a/c copper pipe insulation and place over and will work fine. My only regret is I didn't buy the spotters for standing shoulder presses, but will buy soon.
I hope this helps you decide if you are reading this!
I bought this about 6 weeks ago. Couldn't beat the price anywhere. The first shipment came and it was missing the bolts, an entire post and the safety rods. The box was in bad shape and I assume those parts fell out. Titan shipped the missing parts right away. Assembly was fairly easy with two people. We ended up putting the pull up bar one notch higher as my feet still touched the ground when hanging (I'm 5-10). We didn't bolt it down and just put about 250lbs of weight on the rack. Seems fairly stable. It's not very long, I think if titan added 8-12 inches to the length it would be more stable for pull ups. If your on the fence with this purchase don't be. It's a great rack. Get the dip bars too, they are cheaper if you buy with the rack.
After looking at what I think was every power rack manufactured I chose the TiTan HD Power rack. I chose it based on the cost as well as the fact it used 11 gauge steel. I have read many reviews that complained about just about every aspect of this rack but I must say I am really pretty impressed with its quality. Its a solid very beefy power rack that once anchored to the ground is exceptional solid and stable. I own commercial exercise equipment including Nautilus, Flex, Icarian and while the rack is not at that level it is an unbelievable value at $399. Paint quality would be my only complaint. I have a home Powertec compact hip sled that has a much nicer paint finish than this rack. This being said the rack still looks pretty nice. How well the paint holds up over time is yet to be seen. I also bought the spotter arms that are beefy as well however the paint quality of these were very poor. I also paid $79 for the spotter arms which are now offered at $50 per a pair. Despite poor paint quality for $50 you cant go wrong. Just check out what you can get for the same price at a sports authority or Dicks Sporting Goods and it doesn't even compare. TITAN hands down is far superior.
I'm an assistant football coach and strength and conditioning coach at a high school in Michigan. I just got the job a few months ago and was shown the weight room my first visit and it was a mess. So we decided to redo the weight room. We ordered one rack a few weeks back and have had a great experience with it since we've got it. It is a very versatile piece of equipment that can withstand the punishment. We will definitely be buying more of the HD power racks as we fundraise. Are goal is to get five more. I would recommend this rack to anybody. It does the job and it is affordable.
This is not like buying the Rogue R-3 for a cheaper price. The Rogue unit fit and finish is hands down better. That being said, this rack is just as beefy and functional as the R-3. My biggest complaint is the J-cups. They are clearly not up to par. The 'rubber inserts' are squishy and useless, their precision is way off - I have one cup with a 1/4" of play at the top of the cup and one that sits flush. I suggest Titan reconsider the material they ling the cup with, or get rid of it (as I did). I am not trying to be negative about the rack overall - it is well built, welds seem decent. It is much better than some of the cheap crap on Amazon in the same price range. If you're lifting heavy and don't care about 'pretty paint' or perfect tolerances, get this rack. I did and am more than happy I saved that extra $600 over a Rogue.. the few gripes I had are minor and well worth the savings, which I put into a better bar and weights.
I was originally look at the R-3 welded version not the bolt together and came across this Titan rack in the summer of 2014. (Been using now for 6 months)
Price - $400 shipped vs $1,150 for the R3BT with 4 Plate Holders
Quality - it's steel - yes I heard the complaint about the paint and the rust inside but one thing I looked at was the storage racks my company uses in the warehouse. These have been up for over 20 years and yes there is rust and these racks are supporting 3 to 6 tons every day plus the gauge of the steel is thinner then this titan power rack. At this point rust no longer became my concern. Yes the paint finish isn't the greatest but really when I have 400# on my back this is the least of my worries. The bolts used to assemble are the anodized Grade 8 bolts which is a step up from the rogue rack which look like grade 5.
Putting it together - was fairly easy and take your time checking and double checking placement before drilling down the holes.
Daily Use - great no complaints. I have worked my way up to 500# rack pulls with out a whimper from the rack. I have added rogue kids pull up bar for my little ones. Titans dip bars I prefer this design over the rogue but the handles are to thin and not enough cushion so I will probably modify this in the future, for know I placed my Fat Gripz on the handles. Titan sells the spotter Arms through ebay, these things are great, one thing I noticed is that it has a better paint finish then the rack and it's using the UHMW inserts so hopefully we'll see this on the J Hooks in the future with future racks using a better finish.
Modification that I would recommend is cutting off the washer at the end of the pipes for the pin/pipe safeties with a cut wheel
-Pin/pipe safeties were updated just exactly like the Rogue R3 (solid all the way through no washers, no more problems trying to find the hole)
-Pull up bar doesn't have the usual rust/paint bubbling/chipping as previous customers had issues with
-No indents on the uprights around the holes as others had issues with
-Paint has some scratches but I didn't expect it to be a pretty rack with all the weights getting thrown on and off it (including fedex dragging it)
-Rack sways a little side to side just like every other rack out there, even commercial racks do to, however it does not sway forward or back (I have not anchored it down yet).
-Spacing from front to back inside the rack is very limited, with longer crossmembers this could solve the problem.
-Storage rack and band pins included
-Jhook rubber inserts sucks just as everyone complained about but it's not a deal breaker, I can have these inserts made with UHMW plastic for 10 bucks through a local plastic company.
-Welds are decent, of course they can always be better/look better but I'm confident these welds will hold up just fine. Not as bad as most people claim to make it
-Max weight thrown on the pin/pipe safeties 405lbs (squats) no problem will load up more weight once I anchor the rack down.
-I'm 6'0 ft 215lbs pull ups no problem even weighted pull ups with the belt I'm confident it will hold more
-Install took about 1 hour with an extra hand to hold the uprights while I put the nuts and bolts on, no missing parts everything came as described no words for instructions but you must be dumb if you can't put this together.
-Waiting on dip bars to come in on back order I will do another review on that once I recieve it.
Overall this rack is the best bang for the buck $429 shipped (no tax) including dip bars you will not find a better rack for the price. I live in Northern California if anyone would like to see it before they buy it, you can email me I'm more than welcome to show it to you or take some photos. Msitth@gmail.com
I have one of the earlier production runs of this rack. I love the design, the features and the value, but my rack arrived with improper hole spacing on one of the uprights (I could only put in one bolt on the lower brace). After a call to Titan they rushed a new upright to my house and it arrived damaged and unusable. After sending pictures of the damaged replacement upright they rushed out a second replacement upright - it arrived with no damage to it, but the holes are spaced differently from mine and it is incompatible with my rack. After several more calls and emails it was decided they would replace my entire rack and I'd return my old one plus the replacement uprights. At that time the rack was back-ordered and I was to be on the waiting list for one. I have not been contacted since then (going on 5 months at the time of this writing), and my correspondence has gone unanswered. Perhaps they consider the matter solved? I want to like the rack, but mine is far from square/true and has less than the full weight capacity on account of not being able to install all necessary hardware.
I give it 1 star in each category because I have paid full price for less than a fully functional rack and after several attempts to correct the issue they have not.
Titan, I challenge you to make this right.
We own a strength and conditioning gym in New Jersey and our equipment consists of Rogue, Forza, West Cary Barbell etc. The HD 2X3 Titan Power Rack is AN AMAZING DEAL FOR THE MONEY. The rack we received was in excellent condition/paint was good/holes deburred/holes lined up/set up square without bolting/did sway laterally which we expected
since we do have rogue R3 racks which did the same thing before being bolted down. Additionally plate storage and band pegs and shipping were included in the price. I have read multiple comments on line about the minor imperfections this rack has as compared to the R3( Not knocking Rogue, their equipment is top-notch)however this is a functional 11 gauge rack for $600 less. People need to stop worrying about how pretty the rack is and just worry about it getting the job done which the Titan does. The only complaint I have about the rack are the j-cups lining. Again For $50 you can get a replacement set. By the way the rack looks great.
Beefy, solid. Ordered from ebay on a bid, so I saved a couple dollars, fyi, they have these up for bid, recieved mine in about 5 business days. Assembled myself fairly easy. Haven't been on an actual r3 from rogue, but from the size of the hardware, and the weight and thickness of the uprights, I for sure think this is built for some abuse. Watched a review on YouTube comparing this with the actually r3, thought the guy pointed out some valid points....but at same time, going by what welds are rated for, I don't see any major difference, really at all. Im 100%happy with it, and I have been to different gyms, on various racks, benches, mono lifts, and I have used crappy equipment, and I have used top notch stuff, being a powerlifter, and bodybuilder over 10 years. I would have to say, for the money, and regardless of the money, it's a solid, basic, no high tech rack that does the job very nicely. I saw a comparison that a guy complained about the saddle hooks, but I think they are very tough and heavy. Would opt out for some chains with slings, for spotters, if wanted to go that route, even if you got the r3, I am not to crazy about the tubing and thin rod that goes through it, although, it does look very stable, I wouldn't want to have 500-600lbs on my back, all alone, and be forced to dump it on those. The video showed washers welded inside the steel tubing. .....that is not the case with mine, exact same as r3. Pretty beffy, thinking if one wanted, you could buy a couple smaller pieces of black pipe and slide them inside the tubing that comes with rack to reinforce even more. Slings or chains might a be better piece of mind though. All in all, I have zero complaints, I think this rack would hold its own with any elite lifter.
The rack arrived super quick went together even faster took myself and my 3 year old about an 1-1/2 to unpack and assemble everything. I would recommend this rack to anyone. Nice job Titan!!
not comparable to an r3, but a good rack for the price
The look and design are similar to the Rogue racks, but the overall quality is not the same as a Rogue products.
First, what I like - The height is good for me - just tall enough for pullups for someone 6' tall or under. The narrow front to back footprint is great for the limited space of a garage. It is certainly strong enough to handle plenty of weight for squats.
What I think needs improvement: 1) The pieces are not perfectly straight. You know how sometimes a piece of 2x4 is a little twisted, so that maybe you have to hold it in place under pressure to get it nailed or bolted down straight? That's how the verticle members were on my unit. Annoying. I got them bolted straight, but it took considerable measuring, and the force to get it bolted down so that the unit is square as installed. 2) The paint is not very durable. It chips pretty easily. It has sort of a slick finish, unlike the nice powdercoat on a Rogue rack. I had to spray the pullup bars with some flat paint to try to get a good comfortable feel. Inside the rack you can see rusty dust, so clearly there is no finish on the inside. 3) The narrow footprint is good for space, but you must, MUST bolt this down. Tried to do some toes to bar before I did that, and almost ate it. 4) the J hooks are a bit rough, and the inserts are cheap and ill-fitting rubber rather than the sturdy plastic on the Rogue hooks. There is no right and left hook either. 5) The most aggravating thing is that there is quite a bit of side to side movement to the unit. Front to back is braced well, but it wobbles noticeably laterally.
So, overall, a good rack for half the price of a Rogue unit. If you have $800 to spend though, I would go Rogue and skip these hassles.
We went with this rack because I'm 6'6" and the height of this rack as about the shortest I could go with. The quality is great, but this rack has to be mounted to be rigid, so keep that in mind. As others have said, even a one page diagram of which bolts for to which pieces would be helpful, but it wasn't too hard to figure out as they're all the same diameter, thread, and socket size, just different lengths. Very happy with it, great for the money compared to what's out there.
I agree with the other reviewer that this rack is quite similar to the Rogue R-3. The price is incredible and it is extremely sturdy. I am a Powerlifter (242 lbs) and have put a lot of weight on this rack. It is rated up to 1000+ pounds and that is well above what I will ever put on it. The rack comes with 4 metal pegs as well which come in handy when I bench press with bands. I like the j-hooks a lot because you can roll the bar forward onto the edge of the rubber pieces and the bar will stay forward. I bolted it to the concrete floor of my basement and it is very solid.
It's like buying the rogue r-3 for a cheaper price. High quality and I'm happy so far. Only thing they should have added was an instruction manual(since they have 3 different bolt lengths). I bolted it to a wooden lifting platform I made using 3 inch lag bolts and it is very sturdy. I had someone helping me. I'd recommend anyone to buy this if they are willing to drill this beauty into the concrete or a thick plywood platform.
