After reading some other reviews about welds and general build of this bar I wasn't sure what to expect but was amazed at how solid and clean the build of this bar is! I was going to buy it anyway because its going to be abused. Love this bar, it has really changed my workouts and relieved the stress on my front delts in benching. Packaging was great, shipping is FREE!!!!!! and the $ is amazing! I have found a new product line that puts the other brands in the shade and doesn't break the bank. Titan Rocks!!!
Welds aren't a thing of beauty but aren't bad either, solid no sharp edges on mine and a weight bar to me is about function and performance not how "pretty" it looks. can hear some metal in it but i don't have the engraving so doesn't really impact in anyway. bar is solid, well balanced and using it for french presses is so much nicer than the small paper clip shaped triceps bar where the plates rub your forearm the entire time. was well packaged and not missing any paint, the stickers suck since were already half peeled and one was ripped when opened ,again tho that's just cosmetic not performance. got bar in like 3 days since order so very nice speed especially since it says might be delays to VA due to the recent hurricane. ..
One of the handles had about 1/2" worth of weld missing on one side. No big deal to me.
Only thing stopping me from giving it 5 stars are all that black debris that keeps falling off it and one end cap was missing. Other than that the bar is great, yea the welds and finish aren't great but there still good.
I've had my Multigrip Barbell for a couple of weeks now. I've used it for various rows, benching, overhead pressing, triceps, and curling. This is one of the best workout implements you can get! I had never used one before and I can't believe how great all the variations are. With Flat and incline benching I was surprised how well I feel it in my chest but in a different way. Barbell rows are really effective with the neutral grips. Overhead pressing simulating a log press is awesome.
Okay, mine had the so-so looking welds, grit inside the barbell, and the coating could have been a little better. Who cares? It's going to get beat up anyway and I can't imagine working out without it now. Plus, it's so affordable compared to other companies.
If you're on the fence about ordering one don't be. You really need one.
I just received the multigrip bar about a week ago and have used it twice. Here's my overall breakdown as per other reviews I've posted; hope it helps.
• I've seen several reviews and videos posted about the poor shipping from Titan, but just like the log, I was pleasantly surprised about the boxing for the multi-grip bar; the job was satisfactory and no where as bad as others I've seen. Perhaps, Titan is improving in this area which is great!
• The bar handles extremely well, fits my rack, and handles weight just fine.
• Unfortunately, the welding is simply horrible. The job is done, don't get me wrong, but it has some sharp ends and is finished poorly. You may not care and all you need is some steel wool and that'll help smooth it out. But if you're really picky about welding jobs, this may be a deal breaker for you.
• I saw several reviews and videos about this bar containing metal shavings inside the bar due to the welding and engraving job. I can definitely hear the metal shavings, but mine didn't come with an engraving job so nothing is falling out. If you get one with Titan's engraved logo, you may consider vacuuming the shaving before using the bar.
• It. Is. Amazing. Again, there are some things I would definitely improve, BUT for the price you simply can't beat it. It gets the job done, handles weight really well, and is a wonderful tool for you gym to set you apart, and a wonderful tool to target different positions on several exercises. I definitely recommend!
Nothing but rave reviews for this bar. I didn't have any of the debris inside mine and the welds look fine to me. The bar is big, full sized but racks in my T3 rack just fine. Great for hammer curls, skull crushers and of course neutral grip benching and presses. Don't hesitate to get this one, you'll be happy with it. Superb value.
Great bar for the price. Has a really good build quality, the only thing i noticed is that in the photo the Titan logo is cut out in the metal the bar i got has a sticker
Like others have said, this is great on your shoulders! Many different positions to utilize and hit different areas of your chest. I also like to use it for curls and bent over rows. On the rows I grab the square tubing for a difficult grip!
I like the bar itself, yeah it has the metal shavings inside but you can get it out and its nice and solid. The downside is that the shoulders are soo wide on it that there is only an inch of clearance inbetween the uprights of my t3 and the bars shoulders (for lack of a better term). So when reracking the bar it hits the uprights unless you really take your time which after a set Im ready to unload the weight and am too scared to go heavy with it in case it doesn't get racked right and breaks my face. I figured that since this bar was made by titan that they would have been compatible for titan rigs but not in this case.
Overall i am very impressed for what i got for my dollar. First lets start off with packaging. The box was torn on both sides but the bar was fine because it was in a big plastic bag inside the box. Next is the welds. The welds are of very poor quality visually but are strong internally. They look like a five year old got a hold of a hot glue gun. Also their are two parts where the bar appeared to be welded or attached to something which i removed with a pair on pliers and smoothed out with a file, not a big deal. Next is the knurling on the handles. The knurling is very inconsistent, in some parts it is good and others the knurl fades out or is almost entirely smooth. Next is the fact that their were metal shards inside the barbell which roll around during every movement of the bar and can be annoying. This is not a big deal because the bar has the "titan" logo which allowed most of them to fall out. My final problem with the bar is that the end caps on one side fall off. Again not a deal breaker because you can just glue them back on or take them off entirely because their only their for aesthetics. Once again i do like this bar for the money. I would not recommend it if this was the quality of a normal barbell but for an accessory bar that gets used much less and for specific reasons. I do recommend this bar for the novice lifter just looking for a beater accessory bar.
Help a ton with pec isolation. My power from the bottom on my bench press is growing fast because of this specialty barbell. If you're looking for a great bench bar then get this beast.
My bar arrived quickly. There is metal shavings inside the bar when you pick it up they move around inside. The welds look like I welded them which would not be good. I have used the bar it meets it's purpose. For the price I really can not complain, will deal with the rattle sounds.
Shake the hell out of it to get the powdercoating out of the inside, then give it a beating! This is my new favorite, at least until I get a mace and viking press handle...
Similar construction to bars three times as expensive. Arrived fast. No issue with the finish, but if any develop over time, I’ll just touch it up. My pro style bumpers fit too snug, but metal plates slide on easily. Spring collars work best for me on this bar. I’d definitely buy it again.
Just finished my first workout with this bar and I have no complaints! I work out in my garage as I suspect most of the people browsing this site do - and it's the perfect level of quality for that purpose. I imagine this bar would have no problem surviving in a higher use situation. I have been struggling with shoulder pain for the past few months and have routinely been taking a few advil after workouts, but this bar helps to alleviate some of the stress incurred benching with a standard barbell. Fit and finish are fine, the end caps were a little beat up - doesn't matter.
Can't really complain about this bar. It does what it is supposed to but welds are terrible, end caps were torn up which might be due to the shoddy packaging and handlers. The worst part was that there is just tons of debris (black granular piece) that falls from all over the bar. Not sure what it is but takes a lot of shaking and banging on floor to get all the crap off and out of bar. I paid $85 just this past black Friday so can't get any cheaper than that so really cannot complain. I do think they just try to weld this quickly to get it out because I have their GHD and craftsmanship on them are night and day. Love the GHD and will well put tother. Ultimately, I do not think you need a fancier multigrip than this one
The bar arrived quickly and securely packaged. There were four sharp, rusty spots that some missing paint that resulted from not being properly touched up after being hung by these points and spray painted. Titan customer service offered to replace bar. However, I had already begun filing down the sharp places before I heard back from them. They have me some money back to cover my repair time and the cost of some spray paint. I have enjoyed the variations the multi grip has allowed especially for rows. Great price, great product and excellent customer service.
Great barbell. My plastic OSO replica clamps lock tight on the sleeves. A bit tricky to rack as the box frame is about the same width as the interior of my t3 rack. Grips all feel good. Look forward to using this.
My barbell came with some chips on the inside of the box frame - it looks like this is from manufacturing as there are 4 chips symetrically located along one side of the box frame. There was also more slag near the welds than expected.
Got this bar about a week ago, used it for a chest workout the next day. It is a VERY sturdy bar. For the cost here it is an amazing deal and great quality. Only issue is that one of the end caps was slightly crooked, nothing that effects loading the weights just the only small minor thing i noticed that was not perfect on an otherwise amazing piece of equipment.
I never used a multigrip bar before ordering this but with the price compared to others i've seen on other sites i had to buy it. Been using it for about 2 weeks. Great tool for changing things up. Zero complaints.
i've been in the market for a multigrip bar for awhile now, but the prices always put me off for how often i'd be able to use it. this bar is rock solid and the price can't be beat. highly recommended!
low price for a high quality item!
extremely fast shipping not to mention it was free
never seen a barbell like this for less than $100 usually like $250.
Primarily use this for close grip bench press to target the triceps. Neutral grip rows and also neutral overhead press. Also getting used to doing front squats on them but its kinda awkward, definitely feels a lot better than having your wrists bent back.
